I am an award-winning writer and editor with extensive experience in all aspects of independent school communications. I am passionate about education, and love having the opportunity to tell the great stories that exist within school communities. I am also adept at scheduling and managing advertising and media relations; managing social media accounts; publication production; photography; and website design and maintenance.
As a communications professional, I think of my role as similar to that of a translator. It is my job to take important information from one source and present it clearly to another. But this translation is not about simply relaying material from one point to the next, but rather synthesizing it into a cohesive narrative that is meaningful to the audience – whether that means distilling a 45-minute interview into a 500-word profile, or interweaving strategic messages into a website and donor materials.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Chicago and a Master of Arts in Nonfiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University.
